A DRUNK man was stabbed dead by his brother-in-law for calling his sister “boang” (crazy) around 4:45 p.m. Sunday, April 16, in Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Gunting, Barili town in southwest Cebu.
Edgardo Ewican Superales was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital in Barili.
The suspect, Francisco Languido Palmis, 42, was arrested around 6 p.m. Sunday in the same town.
Police Master Sergeant Pablito Caadlawon of the Barili Police Station told Superbalita Cebu that personal grudge has been eyed as a possible motive in the crime.
He said the victim and the suspect figured in a fistfight, adding that the latter used a screwdriver in stabbing Superales.
In an interview with Superbalita Cebu, the suspect said he got angry after the victim called his wife “boang” (crazy). But he admitted that he regretted what he did.
He said Superales and his wife were not on good terms. (GPL/LMY)
