Man who robbed businessman using a gun replica nabbed

A MAN who held up a bakery owner ended up in jail after being overcome by his prey in a struggle.

The incident occurred on Molave Street, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023.

The suspect was identified as Sanjen Soledad, 27, of Englis V. Rama, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

According to the investigation of Abellana Police Station 2, that while the victim, 34-year-old Kevin Lim Go, was standing in front of the bakery, the suspect suddenly approached him and threatened to shoot him if he did not give money.

Out of fear, the victim handed over P2,000 to the suspect.

However, when he saw that the suspect had put down the weapon he was holding, he kicked the suspect, causing him to fall to the ground.

He shouted for help and grabbed the weapon, which turned out to be a replica of a .45 pistol.

The Mobile Patrol Unit also arrived immediately and arrested the suspect.

Police recovered from Soledad the gun replica which is a lighter, a 10-inch knife, two scissors and the P2,000 that he got from Go. (AYB, TPT)
