THE person who struck the forehead of dog named Bonbon with a knife has already been identified.
The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has already coordinated with the City Social Welfare and Services Office on what to do with the suspect since he is a minor.
Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, deputy city director for operations of CCPO, said the suspect is an 11-year-old boy who lives in the mountain barangay of Bonbon in the city.
She said they were able to identify the suspect after conducting an in-depth investigation following an order from the Cebu City Council.
She added that the CCPO also submitted a progress report to the Cebu City Council.
The stray dog or Asong Pinoy (Aspin) from Barangay Bonbon was found to have a knife lodged in its head on November 6, 2022.
He was finally saved from the brink of death after netizens and pet lovers brought the animal to a veterinary clinic for treatment.
But Rafter said that because of the fact that the suspect is a minor, the intervention of the social worker office is needed.
“Sa atong procedure, when it involves minor, bisag unsa nga mga panghitabo or krimen, the CSWD has really to come in,” she said.
She added that they cannot file a case against the suspect.
She added that the CCPO ordered the Mabolo Police Station to determine whether the minor intentionally hurt the dog, or what happened was just an accident.
“Sa pagkakaron, we have already instructed the PCP commander to determine gyud sa iyahang pag-intent ana kung giunsa gyud to niya or was it just a playful effect or act lang to niya, or there was really intent. Isa pud na sa atong gipalaluman sa atong imbestigasyon. Part ni sa atong investigation,” said Rafter. (AYB, TPT)
