NATIONAL Police Commission (Napolcom) Vice Chairman Rogelio Casurao said Monday, September 10, that they have to apprise the complaints filed by Cebu City Police Office against Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña before stripping his police powers.

In August 2016, Napolcom stripped Osmeña of his power to supervise the local police after he stopped giving allowances to the city police officers.

A month later, Napolcom gave back Osmeña's powers over the local police.

Casurao praised the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas for doing well in the campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality despite suspicions that the local police were involved in some killings.

Casurao was the guest of honor of PRO-Central Visayas's National Crime Prevention Week closing activity held in Camp Sergio Osmena in Cebu City. (KAL)
