Arnel Pura, the NBI agent in charge of investigating the case, said the security firm that hired the guards will be facing complaints.

The guards could not be charged for holding unlicensed firearms as these were given to them by the security firm. They were released from the NBI 7 custody on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

The NBI 7 took the 23 security guards under its custody after it had received complaints from landowners who accused them of harassing them. An 80-hectare land in Purok Tambis has been claimed by a person.

During the arrest, Pura and his fellow agents seized 21 unlicensed firearms.

The complaints that the security firm will be facing include grave threats, illegal possession of firearms, and violation of the election gun ban.
