THE National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI 7) has filed charges against a woman who allegedly exposed her four-year-old daughter’s lewd photos to a Norwegian national.
The whereabouts of Raquel (real name withheld to protect the dignity of the child) was traced in Barangay Suba, Cebu City after Norwegian national Raymond Harper was arrested by NBI 7 agents on June 28, 2022 after he was caught having lewd photos of children in his gadgets.
Upon inspection, some of the lewd photos in Harper’s gadgets sent through WhatsApp allegedly came from Raquel.
The NBI 7, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and Department of Justice Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, conducted an operation against Raquel in her residence on Nov. 30.
The suspect, however, was not taken into custody as no lewd photos and other child sexual abuse materials were recovered from her possession.
Raquel and Harper started chatting with each other from June 23, 2022, until July 1, 2022.
Raquel reportedly sent lewd photos of children, including that of her daughter, to Harper in exchange for a fee.
Raquel will be facing multiple charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 10364 or Expanded Anti-Trafficking Persons Act of 2012 in relation to Section 6 of Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012; RA 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act; RA 10175 or Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2022; and RA 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.
Not the first time
This was not the first time that Raquel was nabbed for a similar offense.
She had been previously arrested for reportedly trafficking her sisters, but was later freed after her family filed an affidavit of desistance.
For the meantime, the NBI 7 is waiting for an arrest warrant that will be issued by the court against the suspect. (ANV / TPT)
