Over 400 Central Visayas cops reassigned for having relatives running for BSKE

THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO 7) reassigned up to 450 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel to the different police stations after it was discovered that they have relatives who will run in the Barangay and Sagguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE).

The Bohol Police Provincial Office, with 238 police officers transferred, is the most affected, followed by the Cebu Police Provincial Office with 104 transferred policemen, the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office with 78 personnel, the Siquijor Police Provincial Office with 15 the Cebu City Police Office with six, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 with four, the Lapu-lapu City Police Office with three and the Mandaue City Police Office with two.

Pelare explained that the police officers' reorganization is only temporary because they would be put back into their previous positions after the election on October 30, 2023.

Pelare said this is being done to ensure that the concerned police officers won't meddle with the electoral process or persuade anyone to vote for their relatives.(AYB, TPT)
