CLOSE to a thousand refilled butane canisters were seized by members of the Labangon Police Station in Sitio Guadalupe, Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City, around 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019.
The police arrested Victor Cabarse, 43, Jasob Rita Barliso, 18, and Arvin Canoy Beltran, 21.
Arresting officers found the butane canisters inside three sacks that were placed in a Toyota Tamaraw FX minivan. They believed the butane canisters were illegally refilled with liquefied petroleum gas.
The canisters are now in the Labangon Police Station’s custody. A complaint for violating Presidential Decree 1865, which prohibits the illegal sale of petroleum products, will be filed by the police against the three persons. (JGS)
