Police seize P21M worth of shabu from pregnant woman in Lapu-Lapu
A WOMAN three months pregnant was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Soong II, Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
The City Intelligence Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office identified the suspect as 43-year-old Pamela Salise Legaspo, alias Lit-lit, a native of Cagwait town in Surigao del Sur but currently residing in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.
Police seized 3.1 kilos of shabu with a standard drug price of P21,080,000 from the suspect.
They also confiscated her cellphone and the P200,000 worth of boodle money used to purchase the illegal drugs from her.
Legaspo said she had no idea what was inside the bag she was carrying, adding that her cousin had recruited her to deliver bags in the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu.
Police stated that they will target the recruiter in their follow-up operation.
They also found out that the suspect was arrested for theft in Metro Manila in 2010 but was able to post bail. (AYB)
