A PUBLIC utility vehicle (PUV) operator was found dead around 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, inside his home on Salvador Street, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, stunning his neighbors.

Police Major Angelito Valleser, the chief of Labangon Police Station 10, identified the victim as Virgilio Wasquin, who reportedly owned passenger jeepney and taxi units.

Wasquin had a gunshot wound in the forehead, while his P70,000 in cash and jewelry worth P100,000 were already gone.

The victim's body had already begun to stiffen when his son and his driver discovered it, leading the authorities to suspect that Wasquin was robbed and killed on Friday night, September 29.

The victim reportedly lived alone in his home.

The police are still conducting an investigation to identify the culprit or culprits.

The victim’s home has a CCTV camera, but the memory card was missing, according to Valleser. (DVG, TPT)
