Radaza lists projects, accomplishments during her first term as Lapu congresswoman

MORE than P2.8 billion worth of infrastructure projects were allocated in Lapu-Lapu City during the first term of Cebu Rep. Paz Radaza.

Radaza, who is the current representative of Lapu-Lapu City's lone district, made her report of her accomplishments during her first term in a restaurant in Barangay Ibo on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

Radaza said of the P2.8 billion she allocated to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), P960 million were allocated for roads and drainage improvement and the construction of barangay multi-purpose buildings in the city.

This year, Radaza said she had allocated P799 million worth of projects that includes the construction of causeways in Barangays Maribago, Tingo, and Caubian.

Aside from infrastructure

During her first term in office, Radaza boasted of her accomplishments as a legislator.

As congresswoman, Radaza sponsored numerous house bills and resolutions including the Bayanihan Act, New Normal Bills, Salary Standardization Law and the Act Renaming Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Lapu-Lapu International Airport, among others.

According to the website of the House of Representatives, Radaza served as principal author of 74 bills and co-authored 62 bills during the 18th Congress.

Radaza is also the vice-chairperson of the House Committees on Social Services and the Welfare of Children.

She also denied allegations made by some of her critics that she was hiding when the Covid-19 pandemic began.

Meanwhile, Radaza also answered allegations over the occurence of multiple accidents involving a drainage project she lobbied before the DPWH.

Radaza told SunStar Cebu that is in constant communication with the contractors on the status of all the projects implemented through DPWH.

"Walay undang ang akong pag remind sa mga contractors sa pag butang og mga road signages and barriers bisan sukad pa nga walay natala nga aksidente," Radaza added.
