AN ALLEGED rapper died after being shot by an unidentified gunman.
The incident occurred at 3:38 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, in Barangay Palanas, Alcantara town, southwest Cebu.
The victim, Kirk Villacencia, 18, single, was declared dead on arrival at the Badian District Hospital.
He sustained a gunshot wound on the left side of his chest.
Police Captain Analiza Comaling, chief of the Alcantara Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that the victim left their home to buy coffee but the store nearby was already closed.
When he came back, an unidentified person approached him and shot him on the left side of his chest.
"Nag-atang ang suspek mi-agbay daw niya sumala sa nakakita! Dayon milanog ang usa ka sipang buto nahagba ang biktima," Comaling said.
(The suspect was waiting, put his arm around the victim’s shoulder according to a witness. Then a shot was fired, and the victim fell down).
Police are looking at two angles as the possible motives in the killing: envy or love triangle.
According to the police, someone may have been envious of the victim for being a good rapper.
A CCTV camera in the area will be used by the police to help them in the investigation. (GPL, TPT)
