SEVERAL residents in Purok Balanak, Barangay Pasil in Santander town, Cebu were evacuated Sunday night, August 22, due to flashfloods brought by heavy rains.
The Santander Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said in a Facebook post Sunday that the floodwaters subsided past 1 a.m. Monday, August 23.
“Big boulders were carried by the flashflood due to heavy rainfall experienced in the area,” it said.
The affected residents are temporarily staying at the Pasil Barangay Hall.
The MDRRMO said barangay and municipal DRRM officials, along with the local police and some volunteers, were able to assist the affected families. (LMY)
