OPERATIVES of the Talisay City Police Station (TCPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested three persons on two separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Barangay Dumlog on Saturday night, October 8, 2022.

They first arrested suspects Kenneth John Diola, a 27-year-old tattoo artist, and Anthony Castro, a 47-year-old taxi driver, in Barangay Dumlog.

Diola lives in Sitio San Roque, while Castro is from Sitio Jansen, both in Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City.

According to Lieutenant Elwood Ebona, DEU team leader, they seized from the two men 25 grams of a white substance believed to be shabu worth P170,000, based on the standard drug price.

During questioning, Diola and Castro pointed to Raymond Camacho, a 33-year-old former overseas Filipino worker who lives in Deca Homes Baywalk Talisay Phase 2 in Barangay Dumlog, as their supplier.

With their cooperation, the DEU was able to arrange a transaction with Camacho, who agreed to deliver 110 grams of shabu worth P700,000 in a different area in the barangay. When he arrived at the designated place, he was surprised to be greeted by police who immediately handcuffed him.

Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, TCPS chief, said Camacho is a former police asset of the Cebu City Police Office DEU.

He said Camacho, a civilian who could dispose of 150 grams of shabu every week, used to pose as a police operative and arrest drug suspects. The latter would take their illegal drugs and drug proceeds. Camacho would then share the proceeds with his cohorts and sell the illegal drugs.

His antics gave the Philippine National Police a bad name, Caballes said.

He said Camacho got his supply of illegal drugs from a certain Paul, who is an inmate at the Cebu City Jail.
