A MAN with a physical disability drowned after he tried to cross a stream in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Tinubdan in the southern town of San Fernando, Cebu, on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

The victim was identified as 72-year-old Silverio Alfeche Sasil, a resident of the area.

Relatives and neighbors found his dead body around 9 a.m.

Master Sergeant Marvin Ando of the San Fernando Police Station said Sasil left his house last Saturday, January 21, to visit a relative.

Ando said Sasil had a hard time walking as he was partly paralyzed after he was run over by a motorcycle.

The police officer said the victim must have lost his balance during the crossing and fell in the water.

Ando said Sasil was probably not strong enough to swim to shore, which resulted in his drowning.

Police have ruled out foul play in his death. (GPL)
