A SALES agent of a telecommunications company was shot and killed while playing online games on his cellphone past midnight on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.
The victim was identified as Cris Evert Lloyd Eduria, 36, a native of Bantayan Island but temporarily resided in Pacencia Compound of the said barangay.
According to the investigation by Police Chief Master Sergeant Ricardo Petiluna of Mandaue Police Station 2, the victim was having fun playing Mobile Legends (ML) with his friends BJ Pacencia and Julie Ann Laude inside the compound when the perpetrator, who was wearing a helmet, arrived and told them “Dugaya natulog ninyo oy (Why are you not sleeping?)”
The assailant then pointed a gun at Eduria, who reportedly tried to grab the weapon, but was fatally shot in the chest by the gunman.
It was discovered that the victim frequently treated his friends to drinking sessions, but when he became drunk, he allegedly spoke foul things.
It was also found out that Enuria argued with a vendor, whom he mistook for a spy since he kept returning to their location.
The police are investigating to determine the real motive for the crime. / DVG, TPT
