A TRADER was shot dead by assailants on board a motorcyle Thursday afternoon, June 7, in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Maodin Manali Lucman, 45, was the president of the Lapu-Lapu City Muslim Ambulant Vendors Association.
He was walking along G.Y. Dela Cerna Street, in Poblacion, around 2:10 p.m., when the assailants passed by and shot him several times.
Lucman succumbed to gunshot wounds in the right eye and other parts of his body. He was brought to the city hospital, where he was declared dead.
Police Officer 3 Marvin Saraum, one of the investigators, said they have invited vendors who know Lucman for an inquiry to determine the motive behind the murder.
The incident happened a few hours before the visit of President Rodrigo Duterte, who led the inauguration of Mactan-Cebu International Airport's Terminal 2 in Lapu-Lapu City. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
