MOTORISTS passing the roads of Talisay City are advised to travel early Friday, August 30, 2019, as traffic congestion is expected due to the funeral procession and burial of well-known radio personality and former councilor Julian "Teban" Daan.

The City of Talisay Traffic Operations and Development Authority (CT-Toda) said that traffic congestion is expected to build in Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Cansojong at 12 p.m. until late in the afternoon.

CT-Toda is anticipating thick crowds and vehicles from all over Cebu who want to pay their respects to the late city councilor and comedian.

Jonathan Tumulak, head of CT-Toda, said the burial will take place at 3 p.m.

Teban's remains will be pulled out of the Talisay City Hall at around 1 p.m. and will be transfered to Santa Teresa de Avila Parish in Barangay Poblacion.

After the mass, a funeral procession will take place from the church going to a private cemetery in Barangay Cansojong.

Tumulak said that traffic is expected to thicken during the funeral procession.

Vehicles who pass Barangay Tangke are unlikely to cross Barangay Poblacion and will be diverted to Rabaya Street in Sitio Kimba.

Motorists who will pass the main road of Barangay Poblacion will be diverted to Carmen Village, all the way to Barangay Cansojong.

Cars will be allowed to park along the road near Santa Teresa de Avila Parish in Barangay Poblacion on Friday afternoon.

Tumulak asked for the public's patience and understanding, advising those who wish to pass the said roads to travel early, specifically before 12 p.m.

Normal flow of traffic is expected to resume at around 5 p.m. (FMD of Superbalita Cebu; JGS)
