Traffic rerouting in Carcar City starting August 10, 2023

IN A bid to help ease traffic congestion in Carcar City, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia issued memorandum order 20-2023 for the implementation of the no left turn policy along the Cebu South Road (CSR) upon entering the city proper starting Thursday, August 10.

All vehicles coming from Barangay Valladolid will not be allowed to make a left turn upon entering the CSR, but instead make a right tun and then make a U-turn at Valladolid bridge.

Southbound vehicles will not be allowed to make a left turn directly to diversion road, but instead proceed to the Awayan-Cebu South Road junction near the Cebu Grand Mall to make a U-turn before making a right turn to City Hall.

Cebu City-bound vehicles coming from Aloguinsan-Awayan Provincial Road will not be allowed to immediately take a left turn upon entering the CSR, but instead take a roundabout at the Awayan-CSR junction.

The governor also ordered the immediate completion of the concreting of potholes along the diversion route for Pasigarbo sa Sugbo.

During her meeting with Carcar City Mayor Patrick Barcenas and the officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways-Central Visayas (DPWH 7) at the Capitol last Monday, August 7, the governor instructed the DPWH officials to complete work on the 100-meter diversion road to avoid traffic congestion along the national highway during the staging of the event on August 27.

The traffic rerouting will be implemented by the police and city traffic personnel. (ANV, TPT)
