USC graduate in top 10 of Electronics board exam


A CEBU graduate made it to the Top 10 of the recently concluded Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Thursday, November 4, 2021.

Jacgil Antoni Banda Oculam of the University of San Carlos (USC) snagged the eighth spot with a rating of 88.10 percent.

David XYZ Temple Callena of the University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao City took the top spot with a rating of 92.80 percent.

In the Top 10 are Hashim Monir Mokamad Ambia of the Mindanao State University-General Santos City (2nd; 92 percent); Kenneth Diaz Chan of Mapua University-Manila (3rd; 91.20 percent); Sidfrey Nacional Alberca of the Eastern Visayas State University-Tacloban (4th; 89.90 percent); and Johnson Ralph Festejo Perez of the University of Batangas (5th; 89.5 percent).

Examinees who also entered the Top 10 are Rom Ivan Fajardo Balangue of the University of Baguio (6th; 89.50 percent); Bryce Bertram Sison of the University of Saint La Salle (6th; 89.30 percent); Camille Joy Vidal of the University of Batangas (7th; 89 percent); Johaimen Madid Omar of the Mindanao State University-Marawi City (8th; 88.10 percent); Norman David Paray Medina of the University of the Philippines-Diliman (9th; 87.80 percent); Tim Patrick Bayudan Nieves of the University of Santo Tomas (9th 87.80 percent); Alyssa Mayette Cobol Caraang of USP-Davao City (10th; 87.70 percent) and Hanna Mhei Noche San Jose of the De La Salle University-Dasmarinas (10th; 87.70 percent).

The PRC said out of 1,484 examinees who took the examination, only 710 passed or around 48-percent passing rate.

The Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination was given by the Board of Electronics Engineering in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga in October 2021.
