
A MAN was arrested after he was caught stealing expensive watches around 6:30 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2025, on L. Tudtud Street, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
The suspect, who was brought to the Mabolo Police Station, was identified as John Tobio Vidal, 31, a resident of Sitio Sto. NiƱo, Barangay Luz, Cebu City.
The stolen items included a Seiko Tuna watch worth P30,000, a Seiko Samurai worth P100,000, a Seiko Turtle valued at P50,000, and a Samsung Galaxy Watch worth P20,000, totaling P200,000.
Investigation conducted by the Mabolo police revealed that the suspect broke into the house of alias Ken, 33, a medical representative, and took his collection of valuable watches.
The homeowner, however, noticed the suspect leaving and pursued him until he was caught.
Police Major Romeo Caacoy Jr., head of the Mabolo Police Station, confirmed that the watches were returned to the owner.
Vidal had previously been arrested for a drug-related case but was released after a few months in custody.
After his release, he became involved in theft in Barangay Mabolo and Barrio Luz. (AYB)
