A MEDICAL mission and a shooting tournament are among the newly introduced activities in Mandaue City’s 56th Charter Anniversary celebration, which features 23 official events throughout the month.
The City officially launched its celebration on Thursday, August 7, under the theme “Stronger as One: Mandaue at 56.”
The medical mission is scheduled for August 9 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex, offering free health services to 600 residents.
The One Mandaue Cup shooting tournament will be held on August 30 and 31, with the first day open to uniformed personnel and the second to civilian teams.
The new events were confirmed during the kickoff ceremony led by Kristian Marc Cabahug, head of the Mandaue Investment Promotions and Tourism Action Center (Miptac).
Other major highlights include a Charter Day concert headlined by OPM band December Avenue on August 30, and a 5.6-kilometer Unity Run on August 31. Organizers expect up to 20,000 attendees for the concert alone.
The City Government has set aside P21 million for this year’s celebration the same as last year even with the expanded lineup. Mandaue was granted cityhood on August 30, 1969, through Republic Act 5519.
