OLYMPIC bronze medalist Eumir Marcial returns to the professional ranks and faces Omar Ulises Huerta in a 10-rounder on Sept. 19, 2026, at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, USA.
The 30-year-old Marcial hasn’t fought in the pro ranks for 10 months. His last fight as a pro was on Oct. 29, 2025, when he walked away with a majority decision against Eddy Colmenares to claim the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) International middleweight belt in Quezon City.
Two months later, Marcial went back to the amateur level and competed at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games. He outclassed Indonesian Maikhel Muskita to win a gold medal in Thailand.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Huerta is a 17-fight veteran who fought for three regional belts in his latest outing.
He lost to Vito Mielnicki Jr. via unanimous decision for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) USBA, WBC Continental Americas, and World Boxing Organization (WBO) Global middleweight titles last April 11, 2026, in New Jersey.
Marcial has a perfect record of 7-0 with four knockouts, while Huerta has a win-loss-draw slate of 15-1-1 with 13 knockouts. / EKA
