AUTHORITIES in Barangay Libjo and the local government of Tabogon are investigating medical waste found dumped along a roadside.
The waste, which includes used syringes, dialysis tubing, and blood collection tubes, has been reportedly traced to a private medical laboratory in Bogo City.
Residents of Barangay Libjo discovered the piles of medical waste on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, and promptly reported it to local officials due to health concerns.
An investigation by the barangay and the Municipal Sanitary Health Office found identifying information on some discarded items, confirming the waste originated from a Bogo City medical laboratory.
Barangay Libjo and the Tabogon local government unit plan to file formal complaints against those responsible.
They emphasized that medical waste must be handled and disposed of properly to protect residents' health and safety. (CDF)
