MEGAWORLD Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality arm of Megaworld, is set to expand its portfolio to 9,000 hotel room keys by 2030, up from the current 6,000 across 13 properties.

The plan includes seven new hotels: Chancellor Hotel Boracay, Belmont Hotel Iloilo, The Kingsford Bacolod, Savoy Hotel Palawan, Paragua Sands in Palawan, Savoy Capital Town Pampanga and ArcoVia Hotel Pasig.

This year, it will add the Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo (326 rooms) and rebrand Belmont Hotel Mactan as Mercure Mactan Cebu under Accor.

Over the next five years, at least five more homegrown hotels will also transition to Accor brands, strengthening Megaworld’s position as the country’s largest hotel operator. / KOC
