KNOCKOUT artist Weljohn Mindoro is set to make his third appearance on US soil as he takes on unbeaten Mexican fighter Omar Gutierrez in an eight-round bout on June 7, 2025 (US time), at the Boeing Center of Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas.

Following an impressive run in the Philippines, the 25-year-old Mindoro moved to the US last year to seek bigger opportunities.

Mindoro was impressive in his US debut, knocking out Brit Tyler Goodjohn in the second round last year. He followed it up with a third-round demolition of Brazilian Lucas de Abreu later that same year.

Mindoro is in Las Vegas training alongside former world champions Mark Magsayo and Jerwin Ancajas, former Olympian Eumir Marcial and Carl Jammes Martin.

Gutierrez, meanwhile, is making his way back to the ring after a four-year layoff. His last fight was in 2021 against fellow Mexican Mauricio Noriega, which ended in a technical draw.

Mindoro is 13-0-1 with 13 knockouts, while Gutierrez is 8-0-1 with six knockouts./ EKA
