A MOTORCYCLE driver and a pedestrian remained in a critical condition following a road accident around 11:35 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, along Gorordo Avenue, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.
The police identified the motorcycle driver as Earl Sean Abellar Estrella, 20, a resident of Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.
The pedestrian, however, has remained unidentified as no identification card was found on her. The Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Cebu City Police Office is now appealing to the public via its official Facebook page to help identify the female victim.
It said that based on investigation, Estrella was driving at a high speed when he overtook another vehicle and failed to notice a woman crossing the road, resulting in the accident.
Due to the force of the impact, the woman was thrown onto the concrete pavement, hitting her head hard.
Witnesses immediately called for medical assistance, and both the driver and the woman were rushed to the hospital due to the severe injuries they sustained to the head and body.
The TEU said it is preparing to file charges of reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injury against Estrella. (AYB)
