AUTHORITIES seized high-powered signal-sniffing devices from a Cebu City hotel in a joint operation on Friday, August 8, 2025.
The raid followed the June 28 arrest of two Chinese-Malaysians who were caught with illegal International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) catchers.
Experts from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC) confirmed that the seized devices could intercept data, including 5G signals, without authorization.
