ILLEGAL drugs worth nearly P1 million were seized by the Sawang Calero Police Station during a buy-bust around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Sitio Omega, Barangay Sawang Calero.
The operation led to the arrest of two drug personalities.
The suspects were identified as Rubin Carin Sabellano, alias "Manoy," 49, a resident of Sitio Sto. NiƱo, Barangay Inayawan, and Kim Bajade Canamales, 32, from Camilla Homes, Barangay Lawaan 1, Talisay City.
Authorities confiscated large packs of shabu weighing 120.15 grams, with an estimated street value of P817,020.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Sawang Calero Police Station and are facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), which will be filed in court.
The seized pieces of evidence were turned over to the Philippine National Police Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
The Sawang Calero police have launched an investigation to trace the source of the suspects' illegal drug supply as part of a follow-up operation. (AYB)
