Nearly P200,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in Cebu City

CLOSE to P200,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by police in Cebu City during separate anti-illegal drug operations from Thursday night to early Friday morning, August 7–8, 2025.

One of those arrested was a 42-year-old woman from Sitio Ermita Proper, Barangay Ermita, identified as alias “Bilangkad,” who was apprehended at 12:05 a.m. on August 8, 2025.

During a buy-bust led by Carbon Police Station 5, Bilangkad was caught in possession of several sachets of shabu worth P34,000.

According to one of the operatives, Bilangkad was monitored after a previous arrestee pointed her out as the source of illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, two drug personalities were also arrested by Inayawan Police Station 7 at 2:55 a.m. on Friday, August 8, in Sitio Sambag, Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.

The suspects were identified as alias Eti and Junkyth, both residents of the area. Police seized 10.40 grams of shabu valued at P70,720.

In a separate operation, a 17-year-old male selling illegal drugs in Sitio Sto. Niño 1, Barangay Luz was arrested by Mabolo Police Station.

The minor, identified only as alias Angel, is currently under the custody of Mabolo Police Station. Seized from him were sachets of shabu weighing 13 grams, with a standard drug price of P88,400.

The minor will be placed under intervention by the City Social Welfare Services, though criminal charges are already being prepared for court filing.

The Carbon Police Station also arrested a 42-year-old woman at 10:20 p.m. on Friday, August 7, in Sitio Pig Vendor, Barangay Ermita.

The suspect, identified as alias An-An, is a resident of Sitio Ermita Proper, Barangay Ermita. She was found in possession of P5,440 worth of illegal drugs. She admitted to the offense.

The arrests were made as part of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (Sacleo) of the Cebu City Police Office, under Oplan Bulabog.

All suspects are facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). (AYB)
