Sister Emma Paloma, ICM, chose to spend her 85th birthday here in the dear old hometown. Now based in Baguio at the ICM House of Prayer, she gives Directed Retreats as well as Spiritual Direction, and conducts Psycho-Spiritual sessions either through webinars or face-to-face seminars for those who request them. Yes, she is a dedicated worker in God’s vineyard.

The celebration began with Holy Mass at the chapel of St. Theresa’s College, her alma mater, and went on to an intimate dinner with family and close friends at the school’s Audio Visual Room, hosted by her loving siblings. Sr. Emma was all smiles as she merrily interacted with each and every one of her guests. The evening turned musical when the San Pedro Calungsod Choir started the ball rolling. Indeed, the party was a delightful get-together with those near and dear to Sister Emma!

Carmen Biaño is the proverbial favorite aunt who is always there for everyone, ready to listen with a sympathetic ear, give sound advice and help in any way. She is happily single and has been a second mother to all of her nephews and nieces. No wonder then that when she turned all of 90 years, they organized a thanksgiving party for her. Venue was the Horizon hall of Oakridge.

On the forefront were nieces Wilma B. Rebalde and Jenjen B. Godornes along with nephew James Biaño and wife Jinky. They gathered relatives and dear friends to celebrate with her. Truly a heartwarming celebration marked by grateful reminiscences and video clips of long-forgotten photos highlighted with fun games and lots of prizes. Carmen was the picture of bliss on that special day.

Dr. Generosa “Geñing” Solano was feted by her loving children with a dinner party on her 92nd birthday at their sprawling home in Beverly Hills. Devoted daughter Dr. Hopee (Torralba) took the lead because her siblings all live abroad — sister Dr. Susie (Ignacio) and brother Kim in Florida while brothers Joey and Raymond stay in California. However, they all came for beloved Mom’s birthday.

A retired pediatrician, the ever cheerful Geñing keeps busy with the plants in her garden. She also enjoys going out with Hopee who acts as her Girl Friday. Her “cup was full” on her birthday with all her children present along with relatives and longtime family friends.
