Grateful for having reached his 8th decade, Ferdie Jakosalem celebrated his birthday with an intimate dinner party at Hai Shin Lou of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu hosted by loving son, Dojoe (with wife Nana), and devoted daughter, Trina. The early evening affair started with Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Lucas Inoc who narrated how Ferdie has been generous with his time and resources in God’s service. He and his late wife Corie were active members of Bukas Loob ng Panginoon.
The happy occasion saw relatives and close friends giving Ferdie their very best wishes for many more fruitful years ahead.

William Mellana was the honoree at a formal dinner party on his 80th birthday at Casino Español de Cebu. Gracious wife Evelyn (former Agusan del Sur congresswoman) saw to it that he had a fitting celebration for eight decades of a life well lived. In her tribute to William, she spoke of his support in all her endeavors and how a good husband and father he is.
Surrounded by his children and grandchildren, William was a picture of bliss. Son Eric took off from his duties as mayor of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, to celebrate with the family. From the USA came doctor-son Michael and lawyer-daughter Cristina. Sending his greetings through them was nurse-son Robert, who couldn’t come. Ormoc resident Adrian was around and, of course, the Cebu-based Edward and wife Haydee who were a big help in party preparations.
A heartwarming part of the program was the participation of the talented grandchildren who dedicated their performances to their beloved grandpa. The evening turned musical when the microphone was passed around for audience participation. Yes, there were many singing sensations discovered at the party. It was a lovely celebration of life!
