THE Cebu City Niños demonstrated their football superiority by delivering a resounding 12-0 victory over Talisay City in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (Cviraa) Meet at the Negros Oriental State University stadium in Bayawan City on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

Cebu City’s impeccable positioning and strategy shone brightly in this match, marking an impressive start in the regional meet’s secondary boys football competition.

Living up to their reputation, the Cebu City Niños wasted no time asserting control as they scored a goal just two minutes into the match.

Maintaining an aggressive pace, Aldric Joaquin Cepe and Jayzon Mikel Genson each scored back-to-back goals to extend the lead to 6-0 by halftime. Talisay City struggled to find its rhythm and was unable to match the Niños’ intensity.

The second half mirrored the first, with Joseph Roy Requiron and John Jacob Go continuing Cebu City’s relentless assault, scoring additional four goals.

Renzo Angelo Enriquez also scored two goals for Cebu City, while Ray Augustine Abuzo and Fritz Marco Amazona had one each.

With this victory, Cebu City advances in the 2025 Cviraa competition and will continue their campaign in Bayawan City.

Earlier, Cebu City’s elementary boys football team also blanked Tagbilaran City 7-0.

Christian Villamor and Rex John Delos Reyes netted two goals apiece, while Axl Jace Cepe, Andre Matthew Amistad and Jacob Andrei Patalinghug added one each.

Both of Cebu City’s secondary and elementary boys football teams are represented by Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu.

In secondary boys basketball, Toledo City and Lapu-Lapu City bowed to their respective opponents.
