

SPORTS events during the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) Meet will not be conducted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“One thing that we implemented is…from 10 to two, that will the time that our athletes, our teachers, coaches will be resting for them to be safe, and aside from that…we already implemented the water break,” said Department of Education-Central Visayas (DepEd 7) Director Salustiano Jimenez during the CVIRAA 2025 press conference on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Jimenez said the “water break” is being implemented throughout the CVIRAA competition.
The 2025 CVIRAA Meet runs from March 11 to 16 in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Visayas, the surface air temperature for Cebu on Tuesday, March 11, was at 30.4 degrees Celsius with maximum heat index of 35.3 degrees Celsius.
By 1 p.m. Tuesday, the surface air temperature slightly rose to 30.6 degrees Celsius with a heat index of 34.8 degrees Celsius.
Pagasa Visayas noted that while there is no monitoring station in Bayawan City, the use the data fetched from its Dumaguete station.
It said that as of 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dumaguete recorded a surface air temperature of 30.6 degrees Celsius and a heat index of 35.8 degrees Celsius. (CDF)
