OVER one kilo of shabu was seized by members of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Dumaguete City Police Station from a 41-year-old high-value individual during a buy-bust at 10:19 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Purok Kalubihan, Barangay Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City.
The suspect was identified only by the alias “Frank,” 41, a resident of Barangay Buntis, Bacong, Negros Oriental.
Confiscated from him were 14 packs of shabu weighing 1,500 grams, with a standard drug price of P10.2 million.
The Dumaguete City police received information about alias Frank’s illegal activities, prompting them to place him under surveillance.
After gathering sufficient intelligence, the anti-illegal drug operation was launched under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Leo Carugay, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Don Richmon Conag, resulting in his arrest.
In the course of the investigation, alias Frank revealed the source of the illegal drugs and identified his downline contacts to whom he supplied them.
The police are now preparing charges against the suspect for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165. (AYB)
