THE Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 seized 1,536.9 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P10.4 million, during 122 anti-illegal drug operations across Central Visayas from April 27 to May 3, 2025.

The week-long operations resulted in the arrest of 144 individuals involved in drug activities. They have been charged in court.

On Jan. 23, P170 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated from a mother and her son who arrived via a roll-on/roll-off vessel from Masbate at Pier 4.

A K-9 unit played a crucial role in detecting the illegal drugs concealed inside their vehicle.

The PRO 7 has maintained its campaign against illegal drugs despite intensified preparations for the National and Local Elections on May 12.

This accomplishment aligns with the directive of PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil to strengthen anti-drug efforts nationwide while ensuring tight security during the election period.

PRO 7 Director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan emphasized the unwavering dedication of their personnel to protect the public from criminals and illegal drugs.

Maranan also lauded the collaboration between police units, local government and the community for the successful outcomes.

“The success of our operations is not ours alone—it is shared with every barangay and citizen who believes in a safer Central Visayas,” Maranan said.

PRO 7 reiterated its full commitment to a holistic approach for peace and order throughout Central Visayas and assured the public that no criminal activity will threaten the upcoming elections. / AYB
