
OVER P1.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by police in Bohol and Cebu City during a Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The largest confiscation came from a buy-bust launched by the Sawang Calero Police Station at 11:55 p.m. on Belgium Street, Barangay Suba.
The arrested suspect was identified as Harrybert Cabras, also known as Harry, 27, a resident of Sitio Manga, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
Seized from him were large packs of shabu weighing 150.42 grams, with a standard drug price of P1,022,856.00, along with various drug paraphernalia.
Also taking action was Waterfront Police Station 3, under the command of Police Major Mark Don Alfred Leanza, which conducted a buy-bust inside Doña Pepang Cemetery, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, at 9:50 p.m.
The suspect was identified as Christian Babes Valencia Remulta, 21, a resident of Belgium Street, Barangay Suba, Cebu City.
Confiscated from him were several sachets of shabu worth P20,400.
Just five minutes later, the Parian Police Station arrested a female drug personality in a buy-bust in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Lorega.
The suspect was identified as Jovelyn Sonit Buenavista, also known as Tilang, 47, a resident of Sitio Silangan 1, Barangay Tinago.
Operatives seized sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams with an estimated value of P68,000.
Meanwhile, members of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Bohol Police Provincial Office arrested a high-value target in a buy-bust in Purok 6, Barangay Poblacion, in the town of Maribojoc, Bohol.
The suspect was identified as Alberto Beimen Jr., also known as Junjun, 41, a maintenance worker at a company and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Guiwanon, Maribojoc.
Recovered from him were large amounts of shabu worth P442,000, along with a .45 caliber pistol.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Jomar Pomarejos, PIU chief of Bohol PPO, information gathered indicated that the suspect’s handler is currently inside a jail facility and is facilitating the supply of illegal drugs.
It is said that Beimen sells 30 to 50 grams of shabu weekly, with his distribution area covering nearby towns of Maribojoc and Tagbilaran City.
Beimen will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) and the Comelec Gun Ban.
All seized evidence has been forwarded to the respective PNP Forensic Units for chemical analysis. (AYB)
