25 ‘drug lords’ arrested, P307M in drugs seized
TWENTY-FIVE alleged drug lords were arrested and an estimated P307 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 in five months.
The authorities conducted anti-illegal operations in different parts of Central Visayas from January to May 2025.
PRO 7 Chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said the arrested individuals are the major suppliers of illegal drugs throughout the region.
The majority of the arrested drug lords were from Mandaue City with 10, followed by seven in Bohol, six in Cebu City, one in Lapu-Lapu City and one in Cebu Province.
Maranan said the agency has intensified their operations against high-level drug personalities to cut off the drug supply in Central Visayas.
“These drug lords are at the top of the chain. They are the ones who keep the illegal supply flowing. That’s why we are raising the level of our efforts to go after these sources and cut them off before they reach our communities,” Maranan said.
Maranan also thanked the public for their support, which he said played a significant role in the police’s success.
He urged the community to continue reporting any suspicious activities in their area.
He assured that the police would act on these reports immediately to prevent any harm, especially to the youth. / AYB
