THE Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7) has concluded a highly successful week-long operation, seizing over seven kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P50.6 million and four grams of marijuana.
The coordinated efforts, conducted from May 18 to May 24, 2025, led to the arrest of 133 drug suspects.
Beyond illegal drugs, the PRO-7’s sustained anti-criminality drive resulted in 115 operations across Central Visayas, culminating in the arrest of a total of 259 individuals for various offenses.
The campaign also made significant headway against loose firearms, with police confiscating 29 unlicensed weapons, two explosives, and 223 assorted ammunition rounds.
Eighteen individuals found in possession of these illegal items were arrested and have since been charged with violating Republic Act 10591, the law on illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
The PRO-7 also successfully apprehended 76 wanted persons on the strength of court-issued warrants of arrest.
The tally includes 17 individuals identified as among the most wanted persons across the entire Region 7, underscoring the PNP’s commitment to bringing fugitives to justice.
Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, Director of PRO-7, lauded his personnel for their performance.
“These achievements are the result of relentless efforts and intelligence-driven operations by our men and women in uniform. The safety and security of our communities remain our top priority,” Maranan said.
Maranan assured that the PRO-7 will continue to maintain this momentum as he stressed the importance of robust community engagement in the effort to eradicate crime from local communities throughout the region. / AYB
