
WORLD-RATED Vince Paras faces one-time world title challenger Sarawut Thawornkham for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Pan Pacific super-flyweight belt Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Venue 88 in General Santos City.
Paras and Thawornkham both weighed-in at 114.7 pounds.
The 25-year-old Paras is closing in on a world title shot but he has to beat Thawornkham if he intends to keep his career on track.
Paras is world-ranked in three different divisions. He’s rated No. 5 by the IBF and No. 21 by the World Boxing Council as a super-flyweight, No. 15 by the World Boxing Association (WBA) and No. 5 in the World Boxing Organization as a light-flyweight.
Paras fought for a world title once in 2018. He challenged then-IBF minimumweight king Hiroto Kyoguchi and lost by unanimous decision in Japan.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old Thawornkham was once a highly-rated flyweight. He earned a world title shot against WBA flyweight champion Artem Dalakian in 2019. He lost by a 10th round technical knockout in Ukraine.
Paras is 23-3-1 with 17 knockouts, while Thawornkham is 24-3 with 19 knockouts.
Former amateur standout Ramel Macado (9-1, 5 KOs) trades leathers with Adrian Dulayba (7-1, 4 KOs) for the Philippine Boxing Federation super-flyweight strap in the main supporting bout.
In the undercard, Pete Apolinar (17-6-1, 10 KOs) takes on experienced Pablito Canada (8-27-6, 2 KOs), Cebu-based Japanese Kiyoto Narukami (4-1, 1 KO) clashes with Dennis Gaviola (3-7-2, 2 KOs), Cholo Alvarez (2-0, 1 KO) is fighting Joshua Padual (2-3-1, 2 KOs) and Michael Bantayan (2-0, 2 KOs) squares off with Nilo Entero (4-2-2). / EKA
