THE Cebu Provincial Board has approved a resolution requesting Gov. Pamela Baricuatro to allocate P2 million in financial assistance for the establishment of a school clinic at Zaragosa Integrated School, located in the island barangay of Zaragosa in Badian town.

The resolution, authored by Seventh District Board Member Paz Rozgoni, was approved during the Board’s regular session on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025.

The proposed clinic will provide basic medical services, first aid, and health education programs for students, faculty, and the surrounding school community.

The proposed project titled “Establishment of a School Clinic at Zaragosa Integrated School” did not state the specifics of the P2 million inclusions.

Situated in a geographically isolated and disadvantaged area, Zaragosa Integrated School currently lacks a proper health facility, leaving the school vulnerable to medical emergencies and preventable health risks due to limited access to healthcare on the island.

The P2 million assistance will cover the costs of construction, medical equipment, staffing, and other operational needs to ensure the clinic’s sustainability.

The initiative also aligns with the Department of Education’s goals of reducing absenteeism and promoting students’ well-being. / CDF
