THE Cebu Provincial Board on Monday, July 21, 2025, confirmed the appointments of former tourism secretary Joseph “Ace” Durano as provincial administrator and Guiller Ceniza as provincial legal officer.
Board Member Nelson Mondigo, in a resolution, moved to confirm the appointments of Durano and Ceniza, effectively formalizing the two officials’ roles in the administration of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro.
Durano and Ceniza have both served in their respective capacities since the start of Baricuatro’s term on July 1. Their official confirmation ensures continuity in key provincial offices.
Baricuatro, along with Assistant Provincial Administrator Aldwin Empaces, witnessed the confirmation held during the PB’s regular session on Monday.
In his speech during the session, Durano said his task would be to implement the orders of the governor and collaborate with the PB.
Meanwhile, Ceniza said in his speech that while he engaged in private practice after passing the Bar exams, he served as Danao City legal officer for nine years.
Ceniza, a CPA lawyer who graduated from the University of San Carlos, told the PB that he has had 18 years of experience in government service.
Board Member Stanley Caminero, who chairs the committee on public health and energy, said he hopes Ceniza would fast-track legal matters passed by the PB, to which Ceniza agreed. / JPS
