A MAN identified as a high-value target in the illegal drug trade was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Pakpakan, Barangay Basak, at dawn Monday, Aug. 11, 2025.
The operation was conducted by joint forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 and the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.
The suspect, alias Rits, 36, a private driver and resident of Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, yielded three packs of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams with an estimated value of P340,000.
PDEA 7 information officer Liea Alcantara said authorities monitored Rits for two weeks after receiving information from a reliable source.
The investigation showed the suspect could sell 300 to 400 grams of shabu per week.
The suspect faces charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is in the custody of the PDEA 7. / AYB
