THE Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) has approved a new IT project by Tsuneishi Technical Services (Phils.) Inc. (TTSP), a subsidiary of Japan-affiliated Tsuneishi Holdings (Cebu) Inc., aimed at enhancing the firm’s digital design capabilities for shipbuilding support.
Peza Director General Tereso Panga and TTSP president Segismundo Exaltacion Jr. signed a Supplemental Agreement on June 18, 2025, to formalize the registration of the project, which will be located at the West Cebu Industrial Park in Balamban. The signing was witnessed by Peza deputy director feneral for Operations Vivian Santos and TTSP deputy general manager Arvin Rivera.
Valued at over P50 million ($850,000), the newly registered activity will enable TTSP to offer computer-aided retrofitting design using Cadmatic software generated from 3D laser scanning. The project is set to begin commercial operations this month.
The expansion underscores TTSP’s push to digitize shipbuilding-related services in line with the global maritime sector’s shift to smart design technologies.
The company supports the operations of Tsuneishi’s shipyard in Cebu, one of the country’s largest and has invested more than P100 million to date. TTSP currently employs over 500 workers, making it a key player in the province’s industrial ecosystem. / KOC
