TADEJ Pogačar further solidified his reign in the 2025 Tour de France following a commanding performance in Stage 13’s uphill time trial, widening his overall lead and leaving rivals scrambling for answers.
On the unforgiving climbs of the Pyrenees, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG leader unleashed a powerful effort, conquering the brutal 8-kilometer ascent to Peyragudes and asserting his authority in the general classification.
After 13 punishing stages, Pogačar now holds a 4 minutes and 7 seconds lead over his closest challenger, Jonas Vingegaard.
“I really wanted to go all out from start to finish, smashing the pedals as much as possible,” Pogačar said after his victory. “I almost blew out in the end but I saw the time on the finish arch and it gave me an extra push because I saw I was going to win.”
And win he did. The three-time Tour champion clocked a time 36 seconds faster than Vingegaard and over a minute clear of Primoz Roglic, who finished third on the day. Even Remco Evenepoel, the reigning time trial world champion, couldn’t match Pogačar’s tempo.
