AUTHORITIES are investigating three possible motives in the death of a police asset in Carcar City, following a shooting at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Sitio Anislagan, Barangay Guadalupe.
The victim was identified as Homer Merida Rebuyas, 42, a resident of Upper Cogon, Barangay Poblacion 1.
Based on initial investigation, Rebuyas was riding his motorcycle toward Proper Carcar when he was cornered by another motorcyclist and then shot multiple times.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds, which led to his death.
Authorities suspect that Rebuyas' involvement in anti-drug operations may have contributed to the attack. Police speculate that drug dealers in the area, angered by his role as an asset, could be behind the killing.
Investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify the perpetrators. (DVG)
