THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO 7) arrested 62 drug personalities and seized nearly P2 million worth of suspected illegal drugs during an intelligence-driven operation on March 18, 2025, across the region.

The arrested individuals are currently in the custody of various police units' custodial facilities.

According to data from PRO 7, the police confiscated 273.36 grams of what is believed to be shabu, with an estimated value of P1,858,848, along with drug paraphernalia that has already been submitted to the PNP Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, head of the police in Central Visayas, stated that the arrests and the amount of illegal drugs seized are signs of their serious commitment to combatting illegal substances throughout the region.

“Our commitment to a drug-free region remains stronger than ever. The PNP will continue to take decisive action against illegal drugs and bring those involved to justice. These recent arrests and drug seizures are a testament to our relentless efforts in safeguarding our communities and ensuring a safer future for all,” said Maranan.

Maranan assured the public that their fight against illegal drugs would continue, working closely with law enforcement agencies and local government units to strengthen their anti-illegal drug campaign. (AYB)
