

THE Cebu Provincial Board (PB) formally opened its inaugural session for the 2025–2028 term on Monday, July 7, 2025, naming its new majority floor leader and assistant floor leader, along with chairpersons for its standing committees.
Board Member Andrei “Red” Duterte was appointed as the majority floor leader, while Kerrie Keanne Shimura was named assistant floor leader.
During the session, the PB also announced the chairmanships for its various committees tasked to lead legislative priorities in key sectors across the province.
Board Member Celestino “Tining” Martinez will head three major committees: Barangay Affairs and Rural Development, Budget and Appropriations, and Waterworks Systems and Communications.
Meanwhile, Duterte will chair the committees on Public Works, Highways and Infrastructure, Tourism, and Gender Appreciation and Development.

The formal session marked the start of legislative work for the elected provincial officials, who are expected to push for development programs and reforms under the new administration. (JPS)
