There’s an undeniable energy in Ayala Center Cebu this week. From June 26 to 29, the Activity Center has transformed into a lively hub, thanks to Mini Thailand Week 2025.
This is the first activation of its kind since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Orchestrated by the Thai Trade Center in Manila, this four-day exposition, aptly themed “Discover Excellence, Trade with Thailand,” represents more than just a commercial showcase. It’s a bridge, meticulously built to foster stronger connections between our two vibrant Southeast Asian nations, granting Cebuanos a direct portal into the rich tapestry of Thai culture and its thriving commerce.
A stroll through the various exhibits reveals an impressive breadth of offerings. More than 50 exhibitors, a diverse mix of Thai and local enterprises, are showcasing everything from delightful food and refreshing beverages that awaken the senses, to innovative health and beauty solutions. One can’t help but admire the unique fashion pieces, the thoughtfully designed homeware, and the sparkling gems and jewelry, each item a testament to intricate craftsmanship.
The opening ceremony itself was a notable affair, graced by the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Philippines, and Cebu Governor-Elect Pamela S. Baricuatro.
The decision to bring an event of this magnitude to Cebu underscores our city’s escalating prominence as a regional epicenter for both economy and culture. As Sutinee Vathana, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Manila, perceptively noted, Cebu’s burgeoning industries and vibrant business community, coupled with its excellent connectivity, make it an optimal environment for cultivating new partnerships between Thai and Filipino enterprises.
