AFTER two consecutive losses, the newly rejuvenated Cebu Greats finally is now back to win column with a 76-63 win over the Imus Brotherhood in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Veteran JR Quinahan came up with 14 points to lead the Cebu Greats that earned him the Best Player of the Game award.

Cebu improved to 5-14 (win-loss) record and is at 13th spot in the South Division.

They will face next the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys (10-8) at the FilOil Ecooil Center in San Juan, Metro Manila on July 17.

“We’re very happy. In our two games, we always had a chance to win, and at least in the last game, we won. And we’re very grateful to Boss Sam Lato and Jhon Santos for their incredible support of the team. And of course, Coach Yeng for visiting our practice before the game. It had a huge impact on the team and the players,” Valenzuela told this writer.

“We hope the team continues to win. I’m also grateful to the players for quickly coming together as a team. Their adjustments were remarkable. Thanks also to those from Cebu for their support and prayers for the Cebu Greats’ victory,” added the former Red Bull stalwart. / JBM
